Sunshine Gun Down Lobi

Sunshine Stars secured their 11th win in the Nigeria Premier League as a 3-0 victory over Lobi Stars cooled the nerves of their die hard supporters at the Akure Township Stadium.

Starting the day eight points adrift of leaders Kano Pillars, it was vital for the homers to pick up three points, and they did it in a ruthless manner.

Dele Olorundare was first to make the net bulge before fellow team mate Tunde Adeniji repeated the trick moments later.

Prince Aggrey made it 3-0 when he curled the ball into the top corner.

While the goal may have had a touch of good fortune, there was nothing lucky about the Akure club's overall display.

Throughout the match Erasmus Onuh's men were rampant, helped by some amateur Lobi Stars defending.

The Akure Gunners made their intentions clear when they scored in the first minute.

A brilliant 30-metre free kick from Olorundare was a meal they needed to begin the match.

But the attacking waves from the hosts died down for some minutes, allowing Lobi Stars to come back into the match.

But the away side were lacking inspiration in attack and they were soon punished.

Adeniji and Aggrey rounded off a miserable day for Lobi Stars with the 2nd and 3rd goal of the match.
