Foreign Coach Pay: NFF In Talks With Company

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is negotiating with a company to pay the salary of a foreign coach who is to be hired at the conclusion of the ongoing 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The local media Tuesday quoted NFF President Amaju Pinnick as saying, however, that he would only reveal the identity of the company after a deal has been signed.

“We have not concluded the discussion and that is why I have refrained from naming the company,' he said.

The NFF recently fired Super Eagles' head coach Stephen Keshi and replaced him with a consortium of coaches headed by Shaibu Amodu, following a series of poor results in the Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Federation has however said it will hire a foreign coach to take over the team at the conclusion of the qualifiers in November.

Nigeria has two more matches to play, against Congo and South Africa, and must win the two games to have any chance of picking a qualifying ticket to the 16-nation finals.
