Chippa Star Akpabio Gets Car Gift

Nigeria striker George Akpabio has been rewarded with a brand new car for his contribution to the success of Chippa United last season.

The Nigerian was the club’s top goal scorer in the NFD last season with his 13 strikes.

The 21-year-old finished the previous season as the second highest goal scorer to David Zulu who is his teammate and strike partner at the Port Elizabeth-based side this season.

Zulu was the overall top goal scorer with his 16 goals for Black Leopards in the second tier of South African football last season.

Chippa chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, presented Akpabio with a brand new Kia for his contribution in helping the team when they gained promotion to the PSL at the end of last season.

Chippa CEO, Peter Koutroulis, told the Siya crew that apart from Akpabio’s performances and the goals he scored last season, the player’s good conduct and his professionalism were considered when a decision to reward him with a vehicle was made
