Akwa United Manager Patrick Udoh has sent a note of warning to former
league champions Enugu Rangers that they stand no chance of leaving the
Uyo Township Stadium with a result today, ahead of a week 30 clash in
the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Udoh believes their impressive home form at the Uyo stadium this season
is reason enough for Rangers to be turned back to Enugu without a
point.
Although they have failed to win three out of 14 home matches this
season by drawing against Sunshine Stars (2-2), FC Taraba (0-0) and
Nasarawa United (0-0). But Udoh's team have beaten the big boys in the
Glo Premier League in Uyo including defending champions, Kano Pillars
and two-time African champions, Enyimba.
Now the former First Bank FC coach wants his team to add Rangers to that list.
"We have shown we can play the big boys especially when we are at home.
In fact we know how to play the big teams when they come to Uyo, so the
Rangers game won't be different.
"Now we fancy our chance of finishing very high in the table after
playing a draw against Sunshine Stars in Akure and we have the
self-belief we can go on and finish the season strongly," Udoh told
www.lmc-ng.org.
Akwa United currently occupy seventh position with 43 points and are
two points off the continental spot on the Glo Premier League table.
