Nigeria international Joseph Akpala is closing in on a move to English club Reading, according to the club manager Nigel Adkins.
Adkins has said he is close to signing two players including Akpala this summer and was excited the Werder Bremen striker is around on trials.
Werder Bremen striker Joseph Akpala, 26, has been training with the club this week and Adkins confirmed the club will continue to monitor him.
"Before the window closes, we are endeavouring to bring a couple more in," Adkins told BBC Radio Berkshire.
Akpala has been told he could leave his German club and Adkins said: "He has come and trained which is important we've had a good look at him.
"We will do our due diligence, there is possibility we could keep him with us."
