Grant Named Black Stars Boss

Former Chelsea and West Ham United boss Avram Grant has been named new coach of Ghana.The 59-year-old Israeli has agreed a two-year deal with the Black Stars, which takes effect on December 1, the Ghana Football Association announced on its website on Thursday.

Grant replaces Maxwell Konadu, who had been in temporary charge since Kwesi Appiah left in September following the World Cup.

The appointment marks Grant's second term as an international boss, having previously coached his native Israel between 2002 and 2006. He has only six weeks to prepare the team for the 2015 African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
