Lagos-based side, C.O.D United Ladies, under the tutelage of ex-international, Ann Agunmanu-Chiejinne, sent warning signals to their play-offs rivals with a comprehensive 7-1 victory against Beautiful Tours Angels on Friday at Akure Township Stadium.
Young striker Nkechi Agams was the star of the game, as she fired a well deserved hat-trick, that further confirmed her team as early favourites for one of the slots available in the Akure Centre.
The fast and skillful forward also provided two assists for her team-mates much to the delight of about 200 fans that thronged the Arena.
On the general play of the team, the C.O.D United Ladies manager, Victor Akinmoyo, expressed satisfaction with the general display and urged the girls to do more.
"It's so important to get the right tempo, and if you don't run and scrap in this play-offs you're going to be caught unawares.
"We knew what we wanted and went on the front foot after some good displays by our midfielders, but can still offer more.
"Our pride in C.O.D United is to set standards and we want to use this play-offs to make a statement in the Female Game," he assured.
