Super Falcons Attack Is Deadly

Following their departure to Canada on Tuesday night via Paris for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has argued that if they can blend enough as a team, they will have the best attack at the tournament.

The 20-year-old Liverpool Ladies forward is expected to make the final cut, alongside Desire Oparanozie, Iniabasi Umotong, Courtney Dike and Francesca Ordega, and believes they will potentially have the deadliest frontline in Canada.

“We have a very good attack and I think that is one thing that will work for us if we blend properly as a team,” she told sl10.ng shortly before their departure.

“I don’t know if all of us (attackers) will make the final squad but if we do I think we will have the deadliest attack at the World Cup.

“The most important thing is just for us to get a better understanding of one another, understand each person’s strengths and that will give us an advantage.”

The Falcons will play Sweden in their opening fixture and Oshoala is expected to lead Nigeria’s forward line but she says it will be a team effort and not just her.

“I’m not the only one on the team, I have teammates and it’s going to be a collective effort,” she stated.
