Nasarawa Amazons upset Rivers Angels to emerge as winners of Champions of Champions Cup

Happiness Daudu denied Rivers Angels a double as Nasarawa Amazons were crowned the Nigeria Women Football League Champion of Champions at Confluence Stadium on Thursday.

The two sides played a stalemate in front of special guest of honour Halimat Wada, the first lady of Kogi State. The penalty shootouts ended 4-2 in favour of Amazons.

Rivers Angels were made to pay for their complacency in front of goal as they tried to get the winning bullet, but they also met the resistance of a resolute Dauda in goal for Amazons.

Angels defeated Amazons 3-0 in the final of the 2013 NFF Fed Cup, with Gloria Ofoegbu grabbing a brace and Elizabeth Addo netting the other one.

Dauda saved Stella Mbachu's low drive, while Asisat Oshoala also missed from the spot. Amazons converted all their kicks to emerge as the 2012/2013 champions.
