We won't rest until the title is won says Pillars midfielder Shehu Abdullahi

Shehu Abdullahi made his debut in the Glo Nigerian Premier League at 17 with Plateau United after helping lead them to First Division status following the 2009-2010 campaign.

He moved to the Kano Pillars FC for the 2011-2012 season, where the team capped an impressive campaign by becoming the Nigerian champions.
The Pillars midfielder says his side will not rest until they have successfully defended the Glo Nigeria Premier League title which they won last season.
He disclosed this following his side's 1-0 victory over Enyimba in Lokoja after the week-31 rescheduled match with plenty thanks to substitute Munir Ubale on the injury time winner on Tuesday.
Shehu came close in getting a lead for Pillars in the dying moments of the first half. He saw his great header brilliantly saved by Enyimba’s Femi Thomas.
The Kano Pillars ball playing libero who starred for Nigeria at the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey before being edged out by Uruguay admitted that he and his teammates are highly motivated to win the league title back-to-back.
The 20-year-old said that the huge support received from the Kano state government, have remained their greatest propelling factor in the league.
“We have enjoyed great support from the Kano state government with Governor Kwankwaso calling us to do the people of Kano state proud . We have always believed in our abilities and we do not want to disappoint them,” the soft-spoken midfileder said .
With three matches to go, the former Plateau United ace said the title race is still not over but insisted the players and officials of Kano Pillars won't rest until the last day.
“We will not go to bed as there are still 3 matches to play. We are very determined and highly motivated to win all our remaining games to defend our title,” said the defensive midfielder.
If Kano Pillars end the season on top, Shehu Abdullahi will become the first Sokoto born player to win the Nigeria Premier League title and even a back-to-back success with Kano Pillars.
Kano Pillars are pole-position to retaining the league title, topping the log with 60 points from 35 matches, two points ahead of closest rival, Bayelsa United.
The team known by admirers as ''Sai Masu Gida'' will travel to Pantami Stadium on Friday for a week 36 match against Gombe United, before returning to Confluence City Stadium in Lokoja for Dolphins in week 37.
