Recently promoted side Villarreal hammered Granada three-nil, after their unbeaten start to the league was halted by Real Betis last week.
Granada improved after the break, with the introduction of former Julius Berger forward Odion Jude Ighalo, but continued to lack a creative spark in the final third.
Cani's pass caused havoc in the Granada defence and the ball broke to Tomas Pina who made it 3-0, thus sealing the Yellow Submarines victory.
Super Eagles and Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche wasn't deemed good enough to come-off the bench. The former Getafe and Real Zaragoza hotshot is sure to make a starting line-up return next week.
