Robbery Attack: Kogi United, Confluence Queens Sympathize with Kano Pillars.

Management of Lokoja based clubs, Kogi United and Confluence Queens have sent their condolence messages to the entire officials, players and supporters of Nigeria League champions, Kano Pillars who were involved in a broad day light robbery attack on Thursday.


The attack which occurred at about 1pm along Abaji in FCT left key players of the Sai Masu Gida boys severely wounded and others with bruises.

Notable and worse hit among the players who are currently receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Lokoja include striker Gambo Mohammed, Eneji Otekpa, Adamu Murtala, Moses Ekpai, Promise James and Reuben Ogbonnaya.

In a statement signed by chairman of Kogi State own clubs, Mallam Abdul Adama and made available by spokesperson, Wale Mustapha, it said the incident was unfortunate and demoralizing to the team.

"We want to sympathize with your club for this unfortunate incident which we believe would have affected your programs. This is not too good at all, its demoralizing and we pray for quick recovery of the affected players and officials," said a statement.

The statement also called for collaboration between clubs and league organizers on proper security personnel to be attached to any traveling teams.

Kano Pillars were en route Owerri, Imo state for the season opener against Heartland FC slated for saturday at Dan Anyiam Stadium.
